To this end, we organized this research in two phases: first, we carried out a bibliographic review, contextualizing the graduate studies history in Design in Brazil; secondly, we conducted semi-structured interviews with eight candidates who participated in selection processes between 2019 and 2020, in order to analyze relevant criteria for their choices. We analyzed the interviews through thematic analysis, decoded them into themes and codes. The results showed that the criteria identified are related to each journey of the candidates. Although each candidate has his journey, given selection process phases, many aspects are repeated, such as organized chronologically: reasons to apply for a Design graduate program, choice of Design graduate program, selection process requirements, selection process challenges, selection process facilitation, and the influence of pandemic on selection processes.</p>}, number={4}, journal={DAT Journal}, author={Ribeiro, Larissa Buenano and Cunha, Cristiano José Castro De Almeida and Triska, Ricardo and Gonçalves, Berenice Santos}, year={2021}, month={Dec.}, pages={279–296} }
