Abstract

This study aims to identify the laser cutting technical parameters in cardboard
tubes, and characterize the material by scanning thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and electron microscopy (MEV. As a result, the combustion temperature the ATG identified, indicates that even at 210°C there is a range of safety of the tubes. The scanning electron microscopy showed the morphological characteristics of the inner surface, outside of the core and the cardboard tube edge. It was concluded the feasibility of applying the laser cutting technology in the material, determining the proper power and speed to more efficiently cut into each thickness. After research, it is shown that the cardboard tube is a material that could be used on product design.
