Abstract

The main intention of this article is to draw a line of connection between the School of Vkhutemas, its architecture curriculum and the modernist architect Le Corbusier. Understanding how the historical and political context of the time influenced a new thinking of form and functionality in Architecture. Based on previously published articles and books, the article analyzes the architect's production from a socialist perspective and the relationship between industrial design and modernism as an aesthetic and political movement, publications that speak of Vkhutemas' relationship with expectations and processes of social change.

Author Biographies

Camila Guerra

é mestranda em Design (2023), Especialista em Gestão de Projetos de Arquitetura pela Universidade Anhembi Morumbi. Graduada em Arquitetura e Urbanismo (2017) pela Universidade Anhembi Morumbi com a dissertação em: Redescobrindo o Centro. Centro Histórico de São Paulo: razões e soluções para diminuir o abandono.

Mirtes Marins de Oliveira

é docente do Mestrado e Doutorado em Design da Universidade Anhembi Morumbi (2012). Pós-Doutorado em Educação (DE-USP). Possui graduação em Educação em Educação Artistica-Artes Plásticas pela Universidade de São Paulo (1986), mestrado em Educação: História, Política, Sociedade pela PUC-SP (1997) e doutorado em Educação: História, Política, So-ciedade pela PUC-SP (2002). Trabalhou no Setor Educativo do MAC-USP e coordenou a Oficina das Artes da Associação Brasileira “A Hebraica” de São Paulo. Tem experiência na área de Artes, com ênfase em Fotografia, atuando nos seguintes temas: artes visuais, fotografia, ação artística, educação e artes. Coordenou o Mestrado em Artes Visuais da Faculdade Santa Marcelina.
