Abstract

Production systems undergo transformations due to intensification in the use
of new technologies, stimulating reflections on potential impacts in mature industries, such as textiles. This is traditionally identified as of low technological intensity, especially the subsector specializing in carpets. Thus, the purpose of the study was to identify the technological situation of this industry and point out perspectives. A bibliographical and documentary research was carried out, presenting results that suggest: perception of the tendency of the transformation of the textile nature through hybrid materials,
which incorporate electronics and nanotechnology; Recognition of opportunities in a new competitive environment from intersectoral partnerships; Identification of the contributions of the Strategic Design for mature industries.
