Resumen

Este artículo tiene como objetivo discutir el proceso de definición de prácticas pedagógicas y curriculares en el campo del Arte/Educación para per­mitir a los estudiantes exponer, examinar y criticar los códigos inmutables y esenciales de los sistemas de mediación masiva y, para esto, conceptualizar la cultura visual como pedagogía del espectáculo Entiende la imagen como pro­ducto de las relaciones sociales, que nos enseñan qué y cómo ver y pensar. La pedagogía del espectáculo de la cultura visual se divide en el artículo primero como una forma omnipresente de representación y segundo como una forma democrática de práctica.

Charles Garoian, 0000-0002-9907-6755

É bacharel e mestre em Arte pela Universidade do Estado da Ca­lifórnia e doutor em Educação pela Uni­versidade de Stanford. Ele tem performa­do, ensinado e conduzido workshops em festivais, galerias, museus e universida­des nos Estados Unidos e internacional­mente. Com base nas estratégias críticas de arte performática, seu ensino foca no processo de fazer arte de forma explora­tória, experimental e improvisativa para cursos de estúdio de arte e de arte e edu­cação.

É vice-presidente assistente e reitora associada dos cursos de graduação da Universidade do Estado da Pensilvânia – Academia de Artes e Ar­quitetura. Também é professora de Arte/ Educação e de estudos femininos.
