Abstract

This paper presents a reflection on the relationship between body, object and space in performance art. The objects used in performances, besides being endowed with affection and memory, can be reused in new performances, changing their meaning and constituting a poetic vocabulary for artists. The present paper discusses the possibilities of giving meaning through the poetic articulation between body, object and space, considering the physical presence of people and things as a fundamental part of the artistic creation process. To exemplify this process, individual and collaborative artworks of the artist duo Hugo Fortes and Síssi Fonseca are analyzed.
